Ah... I love shopping. :D
So, today, I got up at around 10-11AM, and did a page of homework while eating a sandwich for lunch. That page took a whole hour and a half, thanks to the internet being so distracting and all. After lunch, daddy-0 took me shopping at the mall. As usual, I skipped through all the little stores and boutiques, found a store called Buckles that sells very nice, trendy clothes that I wanted but were WAY out of my budget, and went to Dillards where dad and I bought 3 hats for mom for her birthday. Their original regular prices were like, $35 apiece, which is ridiculous in my opinion for a hat, unless they're like those OMFLorrie awesome ones with the flowers and fruits and feathers and lace and stuff in Lolita or princess fashion, which they weren't. Anyways, with the awesome sales of 60% off, and the extra 40% off the already discounted price, PLUS this weekend is "pay no sales tax" weekend in Louisiana, we got all three hats for $26. It was awesome. We got three because we couldn't decide which one mom would like best. One is pink and has a nice little flair on the rim, the other is white with black polka dots and has frillstuff on the rim, and the last one is like a big white sunhat with navy flower/plant shapes all over it. So, I basically went around the mall, window-shopping, and went into Hot Topic (wow, big surprise) and looked around again. For the third time this week. Yeah, no, I'm not obsessed at all. So, I looked around, died inside when I saw the price tags on the back wall where all my favorite clothes are located, and rummaged through the clearance rack. There was this awesome corset, but they didn't have it in my size. I could have fitted into the small if I tried really hard and maybe got down to my original weight, but someone had already tried it on and made part of it all wonky; and the large was... well, large. So I think I'll just order it online. :D Anyways, I gave up looking through all the tshirts they had, and bought a pair of awesome flipflops and some armwarmers, all for $16. Not bad, eh? Piccies below: (from HT site, not mine) Okay... the armwarmers I bought aren't on the site... but they're simple black cotton stretch ones with red stitched crosses running down the side with little fabric skulls, gray-red-grey sewn on. They're pretty cute. ^_^ After Hot Topic (I spent like, 2 hours in there... xD) I skipped around some more, looked at some other shops and then went to Claires, where I found some very cute braceletes and a new fake nail set that isn't so... talon-y and scary looking. :D Here's a piccie of the bracelets, although mine are black, and there are a lot more per set, and there are also some twisty ones. Oh, and I have a red rhinestone one too. :) (piccie from Claires site, not mine) Okay, so, the Claires site is really stupid and has nothing listed on there that's actually sold in the stores... usually it's the other way around. >.> Anyways, the fake nails are white, with a thick band of black at the end and thin white stripes running across. They're pretty, and go with my TH concert outfit lots better than the blue glitter and flowers. After shopping, dad and I had dinner at Zea's, where I had this awesome duck!!! Here's a piccie of it, although it looks kind of weird because I forgot to take a picture of it until I was like, halfway done with it... um, yeah. But, there were two pieces, and I hadn't touched the second piece (one shown, obviously) and so I took a piccie of that, but it looks kinda weird cuz it's pushed to one side, the noodly things are all weird, and the plate is stained in the background. Anyways, revel in the awesomeness: This is what my dad had: (same story as above xD) By the way... the orange thing in front is mashed up sweet potatoes, and the yellow stuff in the back is roasted corn grits or something like that. Yeah. And... Friday. I went to work, and took piccies. :D I know, I'm excited too. So, get ready for more piccies! Starting off are a few of the workplace... This is my spot :D And that's a close-up of the little waterproof paper towel thingy that my supervisor taped there for me so I could do my homework on it and not have it contaminated by poisonous chemicals. Yeah... I got pretty bored one day. :) These are the swirly machines. The blackish one on the right has issues. >.> This is where you mix all the solutions and buffers you need for experiments. The tiny bottle up there is Ethidium Bromide... really bad stuff. Its sole purpose in life is to mutate cells and give people cancer and make us die and stuff. It's bloody crimson like red kool-aid to boot. Talk about evil wrapped up in a bottle. >.> This is the place where I took piccies of my little cells after defection. They looked so cool... This is where all the cell handling took place. Basically it's a bacteria-free zone, which means you have to spray everything down (and I mean EVERYTHING, including yourself) with ethanol (70%) before entering the chamber, and spray it all again when you're done using it. The blue light is this fluorescent UV thing, I think, which kills all living cells and bacteria and stuff. Scary, I know. xP Here is where they keep all the cell cultures. It's an airtight non bacterial place (yeah... again with the ethanol, but only on yourself, not on the cell cultures) The ones on the bottom row are mine! :D This is my supervisor. She's the nicest person you'll ever meet, and she's really fun to be around. She also introduced me to the funniest, stupidest, awesome-est song ever (because it's so stupid and hilarious) Xi Shua Shua by Hua Er Yue Dui. Chinese band... chinese song... go listen to it. *nods* This is a lady who worked in the same lab as me. She's at the lab table next to ours. She's also really nice. :) And this is Matt, the student with a french last name. xD This is the guy who knows my schedule and has that girlfriend who I don't like very much. Although the feeling is neutral right now, since I learned yesterday that she loves reading fantasy books, is a huge bookworm, and is obsessed with vampire novels. :D I'm happy. Vampires = love. She can't be THAT bad if she likes vampires... at least she's got good taste. Anyways... she's not unliked anymore. ^_^ And I just noticed in this picture... he's not very photogenic... and the camera really does add pounds. o.O Or maybe it doesn't. xD But no... he's a cool guy. And... I think that's about it for now... major piccie day today, and I'm tired now. xD Toodles and Loves!
